This type of behavior towards young boys with mothers specifically is a slipper slope to enmeshment and parentification. Its also incredibly sad for the other sibling who can likely pick up on this view from their parent. As a boy mom myself, i have never placed that much emphasis on my relationship with either of my sons. This type of relationship tends to not have or allow boundaries, creating an unhealthy relationship. I would never place that much pressure on my son(s) to tell them one of them is my “heart snd soul.” I cant imagine being the sibling who sees this one day.
